Silver Mile 2019
Nearly 1,500 participants came out to the 2019 Silver Mile Run/Walk for Education and Health & Fitness Fair in May at Penn High School. Thank you to presenting sponsor Saint Joseph Health System for its free health screenings including body mass index and blood sugar. Area vendors also showcased health and fitness related activities. Silent Auction The silent auction had more than 100 items including a full orthodontia set courtesy of Dr. Shawn Long, Beacon Health and Lifestyle 1-year membership, several golf certificates, Dr. Jeff Mader's Zoom teeth whitening -- just to name a few. After a fun day, many left with great bargains purchased at the Silent Auction. Talent Showcase The P-H-M student talent showcase it always a crowdpleaser. This year, the student groups included Horizon Show Choir, Bittersweet Cardio Drummers, Elm Road Jumping Eagles, Meadow's Edge Dancers, and Penn High School Dancers.
Bubble Bash The Silver Mile Run for Education was transformed into the second annual Bubble Bash, with more than 500 people participating in the fun walk/run. Walkers and runners went through foam bogs throughout the course that added another level of fun to the event. Kids and adults alike loved running and playing in the foam.
