Corporations for Education

In 2007, May Oberfell Lorber wanted to partner with P-H-M Walt Disney Elementary, its neighbor to the east. Soon, other businesses wanted to join May Oberfell Lorber in supporting P-H-M schools and programs through an on-going commitment. A five-year commitment allows P-H-M teachers to develop and sustain innovative programs that have an immediate and lasting impact on students.

Today, Corporations for Education (CFE) is the business committee of the P-H-M Education Foundation. CFE funds programs such as Running is Elementary, Young Author's Conference, Penn Robotics, China Cultural Exchange Program, Penn Art Gallery, Gibson Title 1 After-School Mentoring Program, Laidig Commitment, FIRST Lego League Tournament, and VEX programs.

Dr. and Mrs. Jerry Thacker Matching Gift

In a major commitment to CFE, Dr. and Mrs. Thacker donated a matching gift to new businesses that join CFE. A 5-year, $5,000 yearly commitment would mean $10,000 to a program in its first year! A 5-year, $3,000 yearly commitment would mean $6,000 to a program in its first year; and A 5-year, $1,000 yearly commitment would mean $2,000 to a program in its first year! This generous gift will bring amazing opportunities to P-H-M students.
