Superintendent’s Luncheon

More than 300 people gathered for the annual PHMEF Superintendent’s Luncheon on Oct. 16, 2018, at Holiday Inn Conference Center, with featured speaker Jason Lippert, P-H-M parent and CEO of Lippert Components.

Dr. Thacker shared the district’s accomplishments from the 2017-18 academic year.  Highlights include:

  • For grade 10, P-H-M ranks in the Top 5% (out of 291 Indiana public school corporations that have a high school) for Spring 2018 ISTEP+ scores.
  • In grades 3-8, P-H-M is in the Top 6% of public school districts (out of 294 Indiana public school corporations that have grades 3-8) for Spring 2018 ISTEP+ scores.
  • Out of 410 IHSAA members, Penn High School was the only school in the state to win Sectional Titles in all Fall 2017 & Spring 2018 sports!
  • In Fall 2017, the Penn Girls Soccer Team brought home the Class 3-A State Championship and was also named National Champions! Varsity Football was State Runners-Up.

Teacher of the Year Penn High School Early Academy Leader Danielle Black was presented with an engraved brick that will be placed at Door D at Penn High School. In May when she was announced the winner, PHMEF awarded Danielle with a $1,000 classroom grant.

Jessie Kinney, P-H-M Title 1 technology curriculum director and PHMEF 2017 Fall grant recipient, shared a video on students using her grant Dot & Dash. The program introduces innovation and STEM curriculum in the elementary classroom.

This unique setting brings together community members and is a fundraiser for the P-H-M Education Foundation to support innovative grants. Morning WSBT-TV 22 anchor Bob Montgomery served as emcee.

Jason Lippert is the third generation leader of Lippert Components, Inc. (LCI®) and LCI Industries, a publicly traded company. Throughout his 24 years with the company, he has served in many capacities. Since 2003, Jason has been the CEO of LCI and has had an intense focus on building strong teams, bettering our communities and growing the company significantly with new product innovations.
