Silver Mile Run for Education 2018

Thank you for your support of the Silver Mile Bubble Bash on May 5, 2018!

More than 1,500 people gathered for the Silver Mile Run for Education on  May 5. The P-H-M Education Foundation launched its first Bubble Bash on a sunny spring day. ABC 57 Vahid Sadrzadeh welcomed our runners and walkers on the Penn High School track. Many thanks to Penn High School Pep Band for playing the National Anthem and fitness instructor Nikki DeWitt got everyone moving with a Zumba warm up. Kids and adults had fun running and walking through the foamy, non-timed course.

Inside Penn High School, participants took advantage of post-race snacks donated by Whole Foods and Hacienda Restaurants. The cafeteria was buzzing with the Health & Fitness Expo – free health screenings by presenting sponsor Saint Joseph Health System – and numerous businesses showcasing their health-related items. P-H-M talented students participated in the Silver Mile Talent Showcase inside the Main Arena. More than 100 items were up for bid at the silent auction, including Penn High School parking spaces and front-row graduation seats.

The Silver Mile Run for Education raises funds to provide innovative grants that fall outside the P-H-M school district’s budget. It remains the Foundation’s largest fundraiser in its 13th year.

We look forward to seeing you in May 2019!
